Korea University International Summer Campus
June 28th – August 5th, 2010

Korea University, one of leading universities in Korea and a major sponsor of the IKAA Gathering 2010, has realized their vision of an International Summer Campus and is launching the Pre-College Campus Program (2010 will mark their inaugural program), designed for high school graduates to gain valuable experiences with international campus life and an academic advantage through specially tailored pre-college courses.

Eligibility: Domestic/Overseas high school graduates admitted to an overseas university (Separate assessment will be made to select outstanding current high school students)

Program Dates: Monday, June 28 – Thursday, August 5, 2010 (Classes meet four days a week: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs)

Fees: Tuition KRW 3,500,000 (Application Fee KRW 100,000)

How to Apply: Visit ISC website (http://isc.korea.ac.kr), click on “KU Pre-College” and complete the application form

Core Courses: Writing and Presentation Skills (required), Literature Humanities, Culture and Human Behavior, Understanding of Science (students choose one of the remaining three core courses)

Elective Courses: Introduction to Microeconomics, Statistics, Introduction to Management, Introduction to Marketing, World History, Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Calculus I, General Chemistry I, Introduction to American Politics, Contemporary Korean Society

In addition to the regular course schedules, students will have unique opportunities available to them, including:

  • Attending special lectures presented by students and renowned scholars from prestigious universities from around the world
  • The possibility of an internship with public corporations, large enterprises, or educational institutions, presenting students with the chance to experience Korean corporate culture and business practices
  • Weekend Day Trips: Possibilities include ROK Marine Corps Camp, DMZ, Folk Village, Hanok Village, B-Boy, Nanta, Jump
